A-LUX Laser Eliminates Another Sandblasting Booth

Sometimes the difference between traditional surface preparation and laser cleaning can be summed up in one sound: shovels moving piles of blasting media.

That’s exactly where this short video begins.

We recently delivered and commissioned an A-LUX 3000W-CW industrial laser cleaning system at a fabrication shop where abrasive blasting had been part of the surface-cleaning process. Before the new system was even unloaded, the crew was still shoveling spent blasting media from the booth.

The sound of shoveling ends today.

The video follows the A-LUX system from delivery into the blast booth, through commissioning, and into hands-on operator training as the customer’s team begins cleaning rusty structural steel with the laser.

For industrial facilities, laser cleaning offers a very different approach to rust, coating, and surface-contamination removal: no abrasive media to purchase, handle, recover, and shovel back out of the work area.

This installation represents more than another machine delivery. It represents another fabrication shop rethinking how surface preparation gets done.

Watch the video and see the A-LUX 3000W-CW go to work.
